Alberto Aguilera Valadez, más conocido como Juan Gabriel, fue un cantautor, actor, compositor, intérprete, músico, productor discográfico y filántropo mexicano, conocido también con el apodo de «el divo de Juárez»

Juan Gabriel falleció el 28 de agosto, a sus 66 años, un día después de haber dado un concierto frente a un público que lamenta su partida.

Juan Gabriel  compuso más de 1.500 canciones interpretadas por artistas como Marc Anthony, Raúl Di Blasio, Ana Gabriel, Angélica María y Lucía Méndez.

"Ha pasado a formar parte de la eternidad y nos ha dejado su legado a través de Juan Gabriel, personaje por él creado por toda la música que ha sido cantada e interpretada a lo largo y ancho del este mundo".

"Juan Gabriel, no ha muerto, porque como Alberto decía: "Mientras exista alguien que cante mis canciones, Juan Gabriel vivirá'".

Avon Lady Fights to Survive as Company Moves to UK

Although cosmetics company Avon is moving its headquarters across the pond, you don't have to close the door on the "Avon Lady" just yet.

Avon Products is moving its headquarters to the U.K. from New York "over time," the company announced yesterday. It's also cutting 2,500 jobs in "multiple" locations, including filled and open positions, as part of a three-year plan announced in January. The 130-year-old company said its Avon Lady sales representatives have grown from 100,000 in 1957 to 6 million in 2009.

Avon was founded as the California Perfume Company in 1886, when David H. McConnell hired a woman named Mrs. P.F.E. Albee to be his first representative, according to Avon's website. The company changed its name to Avon in 1939. Mattel's Barbie even created a Mrs. Persus Foster Eames Albee doll in 1997 to honor "The First Avon Lady."

Avon’s new headquarters in the U.K. will move the company closer to some of its growing markets in Europe and Asia.

The company sold 80 percent of its North American business to private-equity firm Cerberus on March 1, which created the separate, privately-held New Avon LLC.

“Avon North America is not impacted by any of the recent actions announced by Avon Products, Inc.," according to a statement from Avon. "Avon Representatives and their customers in North America can rest assured that Avon remains in full operation in the United States. We can say with great confidence that the Avon they know and love will be here in the United States for generations to come."

Though the latest personnel cuts will cost Avon Products $60 million before taxes, it says it expects to save $65 million to $70 million starting next year. Shares of Avon Products are now trading around $4 today compared to $30 five years ago.

Despite moving to the U.K., the company will still trade on the New York Stock Exchange and remain incorporated in New York.

"With the recent completion of the sale of the North American business, our commercial operations are now fully outside of the United States, allowing us to dramatically rethink our operating model," Avon Products CEO Sheri McCoy said in a statement yesterday.

MY VIEW ON THE FLINT RIVER WATER CRISIS

It is terrible to think that the government could put the lives of its people at risk but all evidence show that it has done just that because it wanted to save on expenses. however, It is unforgivable to say the least, that the people of Flint were not warned about the dangerous levels of lead in the water they were drinking and bathing it! THIS IS CRIMINAL, TO SAY THE LEAST! All the bottled water in the world will not be enough for the danger the people of Flint were exposed to.

Flint Water Crisis Forces EPA Official To Resign

WASHINGTON, Jan 21 (Reuters) - The head of the Midwest region of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has offered her resignation over the water contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan, the agency said on Thursday.

The EPA also issued an emergency order requiring Michigan and the city of Flint to take immediate steps after determining that the response by the local governments has been "inadequate to protect human health."

TELEVISION SHOW, SENORA ACERO - SECOND SEASON ENDS

Last night, Spanish viewers watched as Senora Acero, a telenovela, showed its final chapter. Amids the murders of many of the main characters we realized that two things were possible but one seem more obvious! Our beloved telenovela was coming to an end! Then last night in the last seconds of the show both Don Teca and Senora Acero are shot! Don Teca shot Chava's mom right in front of him after tricking them into thinking he was Alberto, his double. Chava, Salvador Acero, rushes to his mom and becomes hysterical as she appears to be dead! Manuel, whom we can figure was knocked unconscious by Don Teca since at the time everyone was thinking he was the Columbian who is the double to the Drug Lord from Tijuana, regains consciousness at the sound of Salvador repeatedly shooting Don Teca.

Thus ends The Second Season of Senora Acero and I want to believe there will be a Third Season. Why you may ask? Obviously because at the end as the subtitles were scrolling the words CONTINUARA came up!! Translated, it said, TO BE CONTINUED!!!  So, I am going to hold on and hope for a Third Season because I have grown to enjoy this telenovela!

So until then, we will savor what we had of the Second Season and think on what is to come. There are some knots that were left untied so maybe there is hope for a Third Season!!!
